Please join us on Friday, November 26 from 11 am – 12 pm to be a part of the launch of the Virtual FAN Club.
About this event
This unique club uses life-sized puppets to address social issues through lively and thought-provoking shows. The FAN Club is designed for children aged 3 to 11 and is now available for virtual access for educators and professionals to use as a teaching tool.
With input mainly from local school boards, each show topic was chosen to bridge the gap in the curriculum that addresses these issues that children currently face the most. Each show was developed with the assistance of advisory committees who are knowledgeable of, or have lived-experienced with each of the issues.
Scripts cover various issues including: Anxiety, Coping with Covid and Anti-Racism (Inclusion). The program features a video focused on the associated issue with access to selected resources, activities, strategies which can be used as a follow up with the child/children/class.
This program is created by The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families, funded by The Ontario Trillium Foundation and supported by Civitan International (Canada).
